GRAINNE WATTS
Saggar fired forms
This series of older work explores handbuilt stone like forms that are burnished, wrapped in various seaweeds found on the west coast of Ireland. Then placed in a saggar with additional materials and fired to 1000 degrees. A coat of beeswax reveals the unexpected marks and colours created by the minerals and seaweeds.
